eśli ktoś stara się Wam dowieść, że punkowy etos już nie istnieje, pokażcie mu Screaming Females. To wyjątkowy zespół, który właśnie zdobywa świat.

Zaczynali w piwnicach Nowego Brunszwiku w stanie New Jersey. Wraz z innymi zaprzyjaźnionymi, lokalnymi zespołami, pomogli temu miastu złapać nowy, muzyczny oddech. Wierni etyce DIY (Do It Yourself), własnym sumptem wydali dwa pierwsze albumy. Przez cztery kolejne lata zagrali łącznie ponad 300 koncertów, z których większość zorganizowali sami, często w dziwnych, nietypowych miejscach.

Spanie na podłogach wzdłuż i wszerz całych Stanów przyniosło rezultaty. W 2009 roku wydali trzeci album, „Power Move”, już dla Don Giovanni Records. Szaleńcza trasa koncertowa u boku takich gwiazd jak Dinosaur Jr., Throwing Muses, Jay Reatard, Arctic Monkeys i Dead Weather sprawiła, że szturmem wdarli się do świadomości szerszej publiczności. Na żywo Screaming Females robią furorę swoją punkową energią, a szczególnie słynne są heroiczne gitarowe i wokalne popisy ich frontmanki, Marissy Paternoster. Amerykańska prasa pisała o tych wyczynach tak:

Album-torpeda, „Castle Talk” dowiódł, że członkowie Screaming Females (poza Marissą – Jarrett na perkusji i Mike na basie) dorośli razem i czują się pewnie jako zespół. Zwieńczeniem ich scieżki do rockowego nieba jest wydany w kwietniu tego roku album „Ugly”. Nagrany przez legendę którą jest Steve Albini, jest kwintesencją tego czym powinna być rockowa płyta. Lepsze niż słuchanie piosenek z „Ugly” w domu, jest tylko doświadczenie Screaming Females grających na żywo.
